How Momera works: from QR to live album in 30 seconds

Momera was built to be understood in 30 seconds. But if you''ve just heard about it, you probably want the full picture before trying. Here''s the flow end-to-end.

Host side (you, as the organizer)

Step 1 — Sign up. Head to momera.id/register. Sign up with email or Google OAuth. 30 seconds.

Step 2 — Create the event. Click "Create event". An 8-step wizard moves fast: category (wedding/party/company/other) → event name → cover photo → default filter → optional polaroid frame → reveal mode (live or later) → guest capacity → review + pay. The free tier supports 10 guests with no payment.

Step 3 — Share the QR. Once the event is created, you get a QR code. Download it as PNG (for print on invites or table display), or SVG (for digital cards). You can also share the URL directly via WhatsApp/email/social.

Step 4 — Monitor from the dashboard. During the event, the host dashboard shows real-time stats: how many guests have scanned, how many photos are in, an activity feed. You can enable TV mode (album auto-slideshow on a big screen) or set up a live display.

Guest side

Step 1 — Scan the QR. Open the phone camera, aim at the QR. The phone auto-detects the link — tap to open in the browser. Chrome/Safari/Samsung Browser all work.

Step 2 — Event splash screen. The event page opens with the cover and name. Tap "Join now".

Step 3 — Enter name + avatar. The name appears on the photos they take. The avatar is optional — upload a photo, take a selfie, or skip (Momera auto-generates an avatar from initials + a color).

Step 4 — Shoot. The viewfinder opens. Tap the shutter. Pick a filter, switch between front/back cameras. The remaining shot counter is visible below.

Step 5 — See the album. After shooting, the photo lands instantly in the live album. Tap the "Album" tab to see all photos from all guests. React (heart/fire/laugh), download your own photos, or share.

What makes this different from a regular camera app

Zero install. Guests don''t download anything. iOS + Android + laptops all work through the modern browser.

Server-side quota + real-time sync. Shot limits are enforced server-side. The album updates in real time over WebSocket — guests at a far table see photos from a table near the stage immediately.

Photo quality. Client-side compression before upload (target 500KB per photo), image processing on Canvas 2D (not CSS filters, which silently fail on iOS Safari). Sharp for digital, good enough for a medium print.
